The choir performs in Lasarte, SpainThe choral group The Tudor Consort, originating from Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, offered a beautiful concert in its specialty last Friday in the afternoon on the stage of the House of Culture, a performance framed within the 19th Choral Festival.

The choristers of this musical group made obvious their great strength and vocal quality in the interpretation of fine works taken from amongst their usual repertoire, like Ka Waiata ke Maria by Richard Puanaki, Jesu, dulcis memoria by Tomas Luis de Victoria, Out of the Deep by Orlando Gibbons, and Ich aber bin elend by Johannes Brahms amongst others.

This New Zealand choir, which was founded in 1986 by Simon Ravens and is made up of a total of 13 women and 13 men, is one of the most refined choral groups of its country, and has reaped great successes at an international level. Directed by Alastair Carey, The Tudor Consort is a choir with an excellent reputation in its field and is outstanding for its passion for the music of the High Middle Age and of the Renaissance.

The Wellington choir is in town for the International Choral Competition of Tolosa where they have participated with success and have shared the stage with important groups from the whole world.
